Challenged by God
June 21, 2006
It seems appropriate today to reprint what I wrote on October 28, 2003. Sometimes it is good to look back on where He has brought you from to where you are today. It is important though to not stay there too long so that you can keep moving forward.

Romans 8:15
For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

Have you ever been challenged by God to do something that you know you can't do. How did you handle the situation? Did you have fear, doubt and unbelief?
We've all been there before, lost, not sure of where to go, but knowing that God has spoken to us about something in our life. Do we start saying, "I can't do that? I don't know how to do that? I have no idea where to start?" Or do we ask God to show us what I'm supposed to do next. When we know the nature of God, we know that he will never give us a Word, without a way to fulfill it. Sometimes God answers us with His church, other Christians.
Recently, I had a place in my life where I was not sure that God called me to do something. I was doubting myself. When I was talking to my friend about this and explaining the situation she said to me, "So does that mean you don't believe God?" I said, "Of course, I believe God!" Then she said, "Don't you know that God wouldn't call you to do something or give you something unless He gives you the ability and power to do it?" Boy, did that hit me like a ton of bricks! Wham, right on the side of the head! I was thinking of what I could do – which wasn't much, and not what God CAN do – which is ANYTHING!
Did you know that God is calling you to do something that is "God-sized" that is beyond your ability but not His? That God will not call you to do something that isn't going to show His glory in the end? Think about what He has been asking you to do that is God-sized. Are you thinking you can't do it?
I have to remember Proverb 3:5-6. It says to trust in the Lord and lean not unto your own understanding, but in all thy ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your path.
What a revelation! His Word is still showing me The Way…
