He’s Holding Your Hand
March 15, 2007
I just finished reading Don Piper’s book, “90 Minutes in Heaven: A True Story of Death & Life“.
It is a quick read, as I read it in three days during my spare time, but it is a great story of one man’s visit to heaven when he died for 90 minutes. The focus of the book, to me, is the wonderful people who prayed for this man during his death, recovery and those who helped his family during this trial.
His story helps me to reinforce that with God’s help you can make it through any situation that God has placed you in.
Quick reflection for me is when I read Chapter 13 entitled, “The Clasping Hand“, Don Piper says, “The angel gripping my hand was God’s way of sustaining me and letting me know that he would not let go of me no matter how hard things became.” I recall in December a time when someone was clasping my hand during one of my many cry sessions to God. Don’s words capture what happened to me too!
Hebrews 1:14 (NLT)
Therefore, angels are only servants—spirits sent to care for people who will
inherit salvation.
