Dare You To Move
August 16, 2007
I read quite often the One Year Bible Blog as I go through the bible each year with other believers. Today, Mike placed the following song on the blog (at the very end of his post for the day).
I, like Mike, have VERY wide tastes in Christian Music. I believe that a Christian song can touch the unbeliever – especially when it contains God’s message to a broken world.
Being a rocker at heart, this band, Switchfoot, is awesome. You have to remember that I grew up in the age of Led Zepplin, Billy Squier, Donna Summer….oops — forgot to tell you that I like Disco too! 🙂
Here is the video… (the lyrics are beneath the video):
Dare You To Move
Welcome to the planet
Welcome to existence
Everyone’s here
Everyone’s here
Everybody’s watching you now
Everybody waits for you now
What happens next
What happens next
[Chorus]
I dare you to move
I dare you to move
I dare you to lift yourself up off the floor
I dare you to move
I dare you to move
Like today never happened
Today never happened before
Welcome to the fallout
Welcome to resistance
The tension is here
Tension is here
Between who you are and who you could be
Between how it is and how it should be
[Chorus]
Maybe redemption has stories to tell
Maybe forgiveness is right where you fell
Where can you run to escape from yourself?
Where you gonna go?
Where you gonna go?
Salvation is here
I dare you to move
I dare you to move
I dare you to lift yourself up off the floor
I dare you to move
I dare you to move
Like today never happened
Today never happened
Today never happened
Today never happened before
