Parted His Garments

October 18, 2007

And they crucified him, and parted his garments, casting lots: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, They parted my garments among them, and upon my vesture did they cast lots.
Matthew 27:35 (KJV)

I read this and something within me stirred. When I think of the garments being parted I think of how each of us have been given robes because of Christ who gave to each of us. We are clothed in fine linen white and clean (Rev. 19:14). Christ put on the robe that was dipped in blood so that we might be made clean in Him.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
John 1:1 (KJV)

And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.
Revelation 19:13 (KJV)

Thank you Adonai!

Say So!

October 16, 2007

Here I go again — if you haven’t figured it out I love this album…here is another song from Israel & New Breed’s newest album, “A Deeper Level“.

Say So
Written by Michael Gungor and Israel Houghton

What does it mean to be saved
Isn’t it more than just a prayer to pray
More than just a way to Heaven
What does it mean to be His
To be formed in His likeness
Know that we have a purpose

To be salt and light in the world
In the world
To be salt and light in the world

Let the redeemed of the Lord say so
Let the redeemed of the Lord say so
Let the redeemed of the Lord say so
Say so say so

Oh that the Church would arise
Oh that we would see with Jesus’ eyes
We could show the world Heaven
Show what it means to be His
To be formed in His likeness
Show them they have a purpose

I am redeemed
I am redeemed

Let the redeemed of the Lord rise up

Cling tightly to your faith in Christ, and always keep your conscience clear. For some people have deliberately violated their consciences; as a result, their faith has been shipwrecked.
1 Timothy 1:19

tr.v.   ship·wrecked, ship·wreck·ing, ship·wrecks

1. Nautical
1. To cause a ship to be destroyed, as by storm or collision.
2. To cause (a passenger or sailor on a ship) to suffer shipwreck.
2. To ruin utterly.

Deeper Understanding

October 15, 2007

May the Lord bring you into an even deeper understanding of the love of God and the endurance that comes from Christ.
2 Thessalonians 3:5

I Know Who I am

October 12, 2007

I know I have said this before, by I just LOVE the new CD, A Deeper Level by Israel & New Breed. This is a demo of the song that is on the album. I call it the acoustic version!

I Know Who I Am
Written by Israel Houghton & Chris Tomlin

(Chorus)
I know who I am
I know who I am
I know who I am
I am yours
I am yours

I know who I am
I know who I am
I know who I am
I am yours
I am yours
And you are mine
Jesus you are mine
You are mine
Jesus you are mine

I was running and you found me
I was blind and gave me sight
You put a song of praise in me
Oh, I was broken and you healed me
I was dying and you gave me life
Lord you are my identity
I know
I know

(Chorus)

(Bridge)
I am forgiven
I am your friend
I am accepted
Know who I am
I am secure
I’m confident
That I am loved
I know who I am
I am alive
I am set free
I belong to you
And you belong to me

(Chorus)

Protected by Faith & Love

October 12, 2007

But let us who live in the light think clearly, protected by the body armor of faith and love, and wearing as our helmet the confidence of our salvation.
1 Thessalonians 5:8

Faithful is Our God

Faithful, faithful, faithful is our God
Faithful, faithful, faithful is our God
Faithful, faithful, faithful is our God
I’m reaping the harvest God promised me
Take back what the devil stole from me
And I rejoice today, for I shall recover it all
Yes, I rejoice today, for I shall recover it all

Holy, holy, holy is our God
Holy, holy, holy is our God
Holy, holy, holy is our God
Holy, holy, holy is our God
I’m reaping the harvest God promised me
Take back what the devil stole from me
And I rejoice today, for I shall recover it all
Yes, I rejoice today, for I shall recover it all

Jesus, Jesus, Jesus is our God
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus is our God
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus is our God
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus is our God
I’m reaping the harvest God promised me
Take back what the devil stole from me(12x)

And I rejoice today(8x)
For I shall recover it all

Planted Along a Riverbank

October 11, 2007

But blessed are those who trust in the LORD and have made the LORD their hope and confidence. They are like trees planted along a riverbank with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought. Their leaves stay green, and they go right on producing delicious fruit.
Jeremiah 17:7-8

I Will Search

October 10, 2007

I just love this song from Israel & New Breed’s latest album, “A Deeper Level“. It is just awesome!

I Will Search

How precious how lovely
Are your thoughts oh Lord toward me
How truly amazing
Is the grace that You have shown
Oh Majesty I live to see Your face

I will search for You
And I will find You
I will find You with all my heart
I will lift my hands to You in worship
And I will worship with all my heart

How gracious relentless
Is the Father’s love toward us
Breathtaking the beauty
And the radiance of You
Oh Majesty I live to see Your face
And be transformed
Into your image

Words Sustain Me

October 10, 2007

Your words are what sustain me. They bring me great joy and are my heart’s delight, for I bear your name, O LORD God Almighty.
Jeremiah 15:16

Alert Mind Thankful Heart

October 9, 2007

Devote yourself to prayer with an alert mind and a thankful heart.
Colossians 4:2
