It’s been a while since I posted.

I have been writing in my journal everyday but a shift is happening in my heart. One of the shifts is to give my job 100% of my time. I have cut down tremendously on infringing on my employer’s time. I found myself letting things begin to slide. Filing has been piling up. Grant requests have gone unwritten. Things have been getting out of control. God keeps nudging me and saying, “You need to stop it!” It reminds me of Mark 12:17:

And Jesus answering said unto them, “Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar‘s, and to God the things that are God’s. And they marvelled at him.”

I want the Lord to bless the works of my hands (Deuteronomy 24:19). I want to be a blessing. I want to acknowledge God in my work. Please pray with me that God continues to remind me and keeps me focused in the coming days and weeks as I learn to change the way I do business.

Okay…on to my reading today and the words He has spoken to me that mean something today:

Overlook the stubborness and sin of these people, but remember instead your servants Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
Deuteronomy 9:27

Thought…do we need to remind God? I think he wants confession from our mouth about certain things. He wants us to think about things that are praise worthy? Wasn’t the life of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob praise worthy? So, yes…I think God wants us to remind him because in essence we are reminding ourself of His word. Meditating on it day and night (Joshua 1:8).

At that time the LORD said to me, ‘Prepare two stone tablets like the first ones, and make a sacred chest of wood to keep them in. Return to me on the mountain and I will write on the tables the same words that were on the ones you smashed. Then place the tables in the sacred chest – the Ark of the Covenant.’
Deuteronomy 10:1-2

Thought – does that mean that the commandments were in a wooden box and then all of that was placed in the Ark of the Covenant? I think I’ve read somewhere that some people think that the wooden box was the Ark of the Covenant. I tend to read this as a box within a box…just something to ponder.

Thinking of Jesus being wrapped with flesh. Spirit/Flesh – box within a box?

Jotbathan or Jotbath- a land with brooks of water – pleasantness.

And now, Israel, what does the LORD your God require of you? He requires you to fear him, to live according to His will, to love and worship Him with all your heart and soul, and to obey the LORD’s commands and laws that I am giving you today for your own good. The highest heavens and the earth and everything in it belong to the LORD your God.
Deuteronomy 10:12-14

You must fear the LORD your God and worship Him. Your oaths must be in His name alone. He is your God, the one who is worthy of your praise, the one who has done mighty miracles that you yourselves have seen.
Deuteronomy 10:20-21

What miracles have I seen that portray his mighty miracles? Me — my testimony! And that’s not all…I continue to look for healing for my sister and restoration for every person in my family. Thank you Lord for the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony. What about you — what mighty miracle have you seen?

This is the meaning of the story: The seed is God’s message.
Luke 8:11

But the good soil represents honest, good-hearted people who hear God’s message, cling to it, and steadily produce a huge harvest.
Luke 8:15

For everything that is hidden or secret will eventually be brought to light and made plain to all.
Luke 8:17

Business Partners

March 21, 2008

At the LORD’s direction, Moses kept a written record of their progress. These are the stages of their march, identified by the different places they stopped along the way.
Numbers 33:2

Then Jesus went to Capernaum, a town in Galilee, and taught there in the synagogue every Sabbath day.
Luke 4:31

Jesus cut him short, “Be silent!” he told the demon. The demon threw the man to the floor as the crowd watched; then it left him without hurting him further.
Luke 4:35

Early the next morning, Jesus went out into the wilderness. The crowds search everywhere for him, and when they finally found him, they begged him not to leave them.
Luke 4:42

Jesus -Wilderness — some truths in this word wilderness. Word study needed.

Jesus related to Simon Peter with something that Peter knew – catching fish.

Why were Peter, James and John separated out from the others? Before Jesus came on the scene they all knew each other. They were in business together. What does business, knowing your partners and the kingdom of God have to do with one another? Is there a correlation?

Pledges/Angry People

March 20, 2008

So her husband may either confirm or nullify any vos or pledges she makes to deny herself. But if he says nothing on the day he hears of it, then he is agreeing to it.
Numbers 30:13-14

but he slipped away through the crowd and left them.
Luke 4:30

With all the angry people in the synogogue

  • jumped up
  • mobbled Him
  • took him to a hill
  • wanted to push him over a cliff

Jesus knew that his time had not yet come. He knew he was to die on a tree.

Luke 4:v.25-27 they were angry because Jesus was mentioning foreigners-gentiles. What was the view of gentiles during Jesus time…

I think how much you have helped me; I sing for joy in the shadow of your protecting wings.
Psalm 63:7

I follow close behind you; your strong right hand holds me securely.
Psalm 63:8

The LORD hates people with twisted hearts, but delights in those who have integrity.
Proverbs 11:20

Thoughts on This Blog

March 20, 2008

I’ve always thought of this blog as my way of communicating the richness of God’s word as He speaks with me in the morning during my quiet time with him. What you have seen in the past are basically scripture with glimpses into my journey with small excerpts of what God is doing.

I will be blogging with scripture, but I will be posting my questions and comments that I have written that day. Sometimes it will be ramblings, thoughts, questions. Other times it will be complete sentences, reflection. Sometimes you will see things that I need to do that day. Really….this will be what God has said to me that day during my time with Him.

Most of the time it won’t make sense. But hopefully it will cause you, the reader to start asking questions too of what you read in the Bible!

I love you all so come along with me on my journey to seek after the God who sought after me…

Clean Up

March 18, 2008

“He is ready to separate the chaff from the grain with his winnowing fork. Then he will clean up the threshing area, storing the grain in his barn but burning the chaff with never-ending fire.”
Luke 3:17

Way Over Yonder

March 13, 2008

Way Over Yonder by Carole King

Way over yonder is a place that I know
Where I can find shelter from huger and cold
And the sweet tasting good life is easily found
Way over yonder – that’s where I’m bound

I know when I get there, the first thing I’ll see
Is the sun shining golden – shining right down on me
Then trouble’s gonna lose me – worry leave me behind
And I’ll stand up proudly in true peace of mind

Way over yonder is a place I have seen
In a garden of wisdom from some long ago dream

May be tomorrow I’ll find my way
To the land where the honey runs in rivers each day
And the sweet tasting good life is so easily found
Way over yonder – that’s where I’m bound
Way over yonder – that’s where I’m bound

Quiet of the Wilderness

March 12, 2008

Oh, how I wish I had wings like a dove; then I would fly away and rest! I would fly away to the quiet of the wilderness.
Psalm 55:6-7

I read this and think about how many times Jesus went into the wilderness to pray. He was resting from all that he had done and was going to do. Are you resting in the quiet of the wilderness?

Wings Of A Snow White Dove

(Chorus) On the wings of a snow white dove,
He sends his pure sweet love
A sign from above, on the wings of a dove

When trouble surrounds us,
When evils come,
The body grows weak,
The spirit grows numb

When these things beset us,
He doesn’t forget us.
He sends down his love
On the wings of a dove.

(Chorus)

When Noah had drifted
On the flood many days,
He searched for land
In various ways.

Troubles he had some,
But wasn’t forgotten.
He sent him his love
On the wings of a dove

(Chorus)

When Jesus went down
To the waters that day
He was baptized in the usual way.

When it was done,
God blessed his Son.
He sent him his love
On the wings of a dove

(Chorus)
A sign from above, on the wings of a dove

Trouble? Trust Him…

March 7, 2008

Trust me in your times of trouble, and I will rescue you, and you will give me glory.
Psalm 50:15

I’m feeling this song in my spirit this morning…He Is My One Desire!!!

One Desire – Hillsong from the Blessed CD

You gave it all for me
My soul desire, my everything
And all I am is devoted to You

How could I fail to see
You are the love that rescued me
And all I am is devoted to You

And oh, how could I not be moved
Lord here with You
So have Your way in me
Cause Lord, there is just one thing
That I will seek

This is my cry
My one desire
Is to be where You are, Lord
Now and forever
It’s more than a song
My one desire
Is to be with You
Is to be with You, Jesus
