Give God Your Eyes
January 2, 2009
Have you given God your eyes?
Looked down from a broken sky
Traced out by the city lights
My world from a mile high
Best seat in the house tonight
Touched down on the cold black top
Hold on for the sudden stop
Breath in the familiar shock
Of confusion and chaos
All those people going somewhere,
Why have I never cared?
Chorus:
Give me your eyes for just one second
Give me your eyes so I can see
Everything that I keep missing
Give me your love for humanity
Give me your arms for the broken hearted
Ones that are far beyond my reach.
Give me your heart for the ones forgotten
Give me your eyes so I can see
Yeah
Yeah
Step out on a busy street
See a girl and our eyes meet
Does her best to smile at me
To hide what’s underneath
There’s a man just to her right
Black suit and a bright red tie
Too ashamed to tell his wife
He’s out of work
He’s buying time
All those people going somewhere
Why have I never cared?
Chorus
I’ve Been there a million times
A couple of million eyes
Just moving past me by
I swear I never thought that I was wrong
Well I want a second glance
So give me a second chance
To see the way you see the people all along
Chorus (x2)
The Seed…God’s Message
March 28, 2008
It’s been a while since I posted.
I have been writing in my journal everyday but a shift is happening in my heart. One of the shifts is to give my job 100% of my time. I have cut down tremendously on infringing on my employer’s time. I found myself letting things begin to slide. Filing has been piling up. Grant requests have gone unwritten. Things have been getting out of control. God keeps nudging me and saying, “You need to stop it!” It reminds me of Mark 12:17:
And Jesus answering said unto them, “Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar‘s, and to God the things that are God’s. And they marvelled at him.”
I want the Lord to bless the works of my hands (Deuteronomy 24:19). I want to be a blessing. I want to acknowledge God in my work. Please pray with me that God continues to remind me and keeps me focused in the coming days and weeks as I learn to change the way I do business.
Okay…on to my reading today and the words He has spoken to me that mean something today:
Overlook the stubborness and sin of these people, but remember instead your servants Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
Deuteronomy 9:27
Thought…do we need to remind God? I think he wants confession from our mouth about certain things. He wants us to think about things that are praise worthy? Wasn’t the life of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob praise worthy? So, yes…I think God wants us to remind him because in essence we are reminding ourself of His word. Meditating on it day and night (Joshua 1:8).
At that time the LORD said to me, ‘Prepare two stone tablets like the first ones, and make a sacred chest of wood to keep them in. Return to me on the mountain and I will write on the tables the same words that were on the ones you smashed. Then place the tables in the sacred chest – the Ark of the Covenant.’
Deuteronomy 10:1-2
Thought – does that mean that the commandments were in a wooden box and then all of that was placed in the Ark of the Covenant? I think I’ve read somewhere that some people think that the wooden box was the Ark of the Covenant. I tend to read this as a box within a box…just something to ponder.
Thinking of Jesus being wrapped with flesh. Spirit/Flesh – box within a box?
Jotbathan or Jotbath- a land with brooks of water – pleasantness.
And now, Israel, what does the LORD your God require of you? He requires you to fear him, to live according to His will, to love and worship Him with all your heart and soul, and to obey the LORD’s commands and laws that I am giving you today for your own good. The highest heavens and the earth and everything in it belong to the LORD your God.
Deuteronomy 10:12-14You must fear the LORD your God and worship Him. Your oaths must be in His name alone. He is your God, the one who is worthy of your praise, the one who has done mighty miracles that you yourselves have seen.
Deuteronomy 10:20-21
What miracles have I seen that portray his mighty miracles? Me — my testimony! And that’s not all…I continue to look for healing for my sister and restoration for every person in my family. Thank you Lord for the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony. What about you — what mighty miracle have you seen?
This is the meaning of the story: The seed is God’s message.
Luke 8:11But the good soil represents honest, good-hearted people who hear God’s message, cling to it, and steadily produce a huge harvest.
Luke 8:15For everything that is hidden or secret will eventually be brought to light and made plain to all.
Luke 8:17
Is Your Heart Pure?
January 5, 2008
God blesses those whose hearts are pure, for they will see God.
Matthew 5:8
How to have a clean heart…by asking God through His word:
Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.

Melodies From Heaven
November 29, 2007
Melodies From Heaven – Kirk Franklin
Melodies from heaven
Rain down on me
Rain down on me
When I’m feelin’ low
and there’s no place to go
My love for you I’ll show
Cuz you will always know
How to give me peace and happiness
Lord I give my all and nothing less
For the love that you give
You’re the reason why I live
So let your raindrops fall on me
So my spirit can be free
Rain down on me
Rain down on me
Melodies from heaven rain down on me
Rain down on me
Take me in your arms and hold me close
Rain down on me
Rain down on me
Fill me with your precious holy ghost
Rain down on me
Rain down on me
Aptitude for Learning
November 25, 2007
God gave these four men an unusual aptitude for learning the literature and science of the time. And God gave Daniel special ability in understanding the meanings of visions and dreams.
Daniel 1:17
I Need Wisdom
November 17, 2007
If you need wisdom – if you want to know what God wants you to do – ask Him, and He will gladly tell you. But when you ask Him, be sure that you really expect Him to answer, for a doubtful mind is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind.
James 1:5-6
Consuming Fire
November 15, 2007
For our God is a consuming fire.
Hebrews 12:29
I was over at Mike’s One Year Bible Blog today and he posted this video below.
Here are the lyrics to CONSUMING FIRE from Third Day:
Set this place on fire
Send your spirit, Savior
Rescue from the mire
Show Your servant favor
Yesterday was the day that I was alone
Now I’m in the presence of Almighty God
Chorus:
and yes our God, He is a consuming fire
And the flames burn down deep in my soul
Yes our God He is a consuming fire
He reaches inside and He melts down this
cold heart of stone.
Set this place on fire
Send Your spirit, Saviour
Rescue from the mire
Show your servant favor
Yesterday was the day that I was alone
Now I’m in the presence of Almighty God
Repeat chorus
Did you realize that inside you there is a flame?
Did you ever try to let it burn?

When you send your Spirit, new life is born to replenish all the living of the earth.
Psalm 104:30
Hosanna – Hillsong United
Verse 1
I see the king of glory
Coming down the clouds with fire
The whole earth shakes, the whole earth shakes
I see his love and mercy
Washing over all our sin
The people sing, the people sing
Chorus
Hosanna, hosanna
Hosanna in the highest
Verse 2
I see a generation
Rising up to take the place
With selfless faith, with selfless faith
I see a new revival
Staring as we pray and seek
We’re on our knees, we’re on our knees
Bridge
Heal my heart and make it clean
Open up my eyes to the things unseen
Show me how to love like you have loved me
Break my heart for what is yours
Everything I am for your kingdom’s cause
As I walk from earth into eternity
Hosanna
Keep Yourself Pure
October 23, 2007
If you keep yourself pure, you will be a utensil God can use for his purpose. Your life will be clean, and you will be ready for the Master to use you for every good work.
